Acupuncturist Shani, BHSc (Acu), is a veteran of facilitating and guiding healing journeys. With 18 years’ experience as a wellness practitioner, her ethos is to treat the whole person to gain exception results and wellness, rather than having a symptomatic focus. The idea that symptoms are a sign of imbalance and have a cause, and that the body knows how to heal under the right conditions, rings true for the way in which Shani tends to her clients.
Thirteen years of Remedial Massage therapy laid a solid foundation for Shani’s career in the healing arts, followed by further studies and application in Reiki, Thai Yoga Massage, Hypnotherapy and Kinesiology. However, it was in Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture that Shani found a complete healing system, a depth of knowledge and the skills she had been searching for. In this modality the answers to her many questions presented – a medicine that seemed so magical and contradictory to society’s rational belief, but yet so firmly planted in science, knowledge and thousands of years of results.
Shani has completed a Bachelor of Health Science in Acupuncture – along with securing a mentorship in one of the Gold Coast’s most reputable acupuncture clinics. Shani has refined the ancient art of Japanese Five Element Acupuncture, Master Acupuncturist Masakazu Ikeda Sensei style, gifting her a deep understanding and respect for the ancient medicine lineage that is preserved through the alignment of master to student training. Shani excelled in moxibustion and acupuncture techniques, both of which are highly effective and extremely gentle. Shani supports all phases of life in her work from babies to elderly, she has worked extensively in fertility, pregnancy and postpartum support and understands the need for support during these most demanding phases of life. Supported people can thrive not only survive and support their own lobgetivity all the while bringing through the healthiest future generation.
Shani is a loving mother understanding these demanding phases as she has walked the path herself, a loving partner and remains the perpetual student – consistently furthering her knowledge through in depth self-study, monthly workshops, regular continued professional development seminars and travel to Japan to study under Master Acupuncturist Masakazu Ikeda Sensei.
“I gently assist my people to restore balance and wellness by resolving internal disharmony. I am highly motivated and purpose driven, delivering the highest quality of care and level of treatment to my clients available. My passion is treating difficult cases where answers have been hard to find. I am extremely results focused and beyond grateful to offer my skill at AcuWellness, contributing to the health of our community within such a knowledgeable purpose driven team of health professionals.”
